Elizabeth Slattery

Elizabeth is a Solicitor with over 20 years’ experience of dispute resolution in the construction and engineering sector; she trained at and became a Partner at Beale & Co, from where she moved to set up an in-house dispute resolution service at major UK contractor Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd. She later moved to niche construction practice Shadbolt & Co, where she worked alongside both Peter and Jonathan, handling disputes in the High Court, arbitrations and adjudications for a variety of construction and engineering clients. More recently, in her capacity as a Consultant at Corbett & Co, she also gained considerable experience of international arbitrations. She was also a member of the editorial panel of the journal Construction Law International, for whom she contributed numerous articles and was its Managing Editor for three years until 2016.

Elizabeth has worked on projects involving all standard industry contracts; most particularly, JCT, NEC 3 and NEC 4 and FIDIC. She is experienced in advising at the outset of a potential dispute, on dispute avoidance measures, and also on the entire range of dispute resolution procedures. Most recently she has acted for a major UK contractor in a multi-million pound adjudication against a UK water company, and for an Israeli contractor in a series of adjudications concerning a water treatment plant.
